Default To camber or not to camber?

Just curious, How many of you hone your bench plane irons with a cambered edge? What are the pros and cons?

    Hi Number Nine...

Pros are fewer or no plane tracks. Cons?

I do leave some straight for joinery and with the slightest of eased corners for final smoothing.

Some also find it easier to have a cambered iron for controlled edge prep prior to edge gluing.

Perhaps the one con I can think of would be the honing aspect. I have seen people put too much camber on a blade by accident and end up needing to regrind. But that's about it for a con.

    Hi,

    Yep, a Knight plane.

I've been selling off a few planes, but that one will need to be pried from my hands when I die...

And I see a rather nice infill as your avatar...
