CEN-TECH Hollow Chisel Mortiser.
I am in need of a Hollow Chisel Mortiser, and happened to run across one at Harbor Freight Tools. This Mortiser is on sale now for $99.99 (reg. $159.99), and I wanted to know if anyone, here, has any experience with this unit. I just couldn't swing the cost of the Delta, or Jet, so this will have to be the solution for me - unless, of course, there are to be some very negative replies to flow back on this matter. Please respond ASAP, as I would like to be able to meet the sales price.

Dunno bout the the one in question. I bought the carbatech one for about $90 (after buying a cheaper one and took it back) works great. Don't use the fence much cos it's too small.
All you really need is the chisel holder for the quill. As fence can be angle iron and clamps. Works well.
The fences with these units have fingers to hold the work. I found anything bigger than 50x50 they can't handle.

Don't know about the morticer but I thought I should jump in and stop people getting over excited about a $99 machine. I presume, SDM, you are talking US$ while Conwood is talking A$.
Where's Ryan when you need him???
