Chasing a good Linisher
Trying to track down suppliers of Linisher's in Queensland. Can't get any sense from the local people here in Bundaberg. I have seen a few of those pokey little ones with a 6" disc and a piddley little Belt. I think I saw a picture a little while ago of a bench mounted disc sander with a good size disc I think 8" and no belt, just the disc. It had an adjustable rest and an angle bracket as well. This is the kind of thing I am after, can anyone reccomend a supplier ?

Craig, you could try Gregories Machinery in Brisbane. They carry the Woodman brand and we have had one of their big belt/disc (12" disc) for about 6 yrs and had no troubles with it except that you you have to be careful with it. It can replace a saw if you let it.

Finally, I found the catalouge I was looking for!!
I was at the Brisbane working with Wood show earlier this year. I was looking for both a bandsaw and also a good 12" disc sander. I got the bandsaw, but didn't get a disc sander.
I saw a disc sander there and it looked good. Has all the goodies one might want in a disc sander, but was advised by someone there, that they are not so good for woodwork?? That gave me second thoughts about one, he advised a good mini stroke sander, but I didn't want to spend that amount of money, especially when I have larger one.
Anyway, the machine I thought would be the better of the lot was a Hafco brand 12" disc sander. Tilt table, sliding mitre gauge etc etc.. operates at 1440rpm. I heard it running, and you could hardly hear a thing, good or bad, you decide
If your interested contact the following,
Hare & Forbes Pty Ltd.
550 Kessels Rd,

I am sure they would send out a current catalouge!!
Oh the R.R.P was $429 but he was willing to do a better price!
Hope this all helps!!
Oh, and if anyone wants to throw in there comments in regards the benifits of this type of sander, please do so, as I am now hesitating to get one, but feel it would be of some benifit to my operations!!
Cheers
Shane..
