Rob, thanks for the follow-up. The issue was a very minor one, probably a one-off, and is easily remedied. I must admit I had to think twice before I believed it was not assembled correctly!
The bevel issue is just as you describe (for my guide anyway). I've learn't to live with it and it doesn't warrant an exchange part - I'd rather save that sort of thing for something that *really* bothers me.
Oh yes, while you're on-forum, that router plane is one great tool, kudos to your design team!

G'day,
I checked my MkII today and it's all right. Have to hand it to Veritas/Rob Lee they're great on after service and product satisfaction in reference to Rob's post above. Thumbs up from me.

Thought I'd post an update; after a chat with Rob my issues have been more than satisfactorily resolved. Lee Valley's customer service is just amazing.
