Dunno why a thread from 2003 has been revived but the Freud Pro blades are great. It is much quieter and gives a great cut and has lasted quite some time without loss of performance.

I bought a second hand Makita sliding compound saw on ebay a year or so back and it had a Makita Blue blade in it, a week or so back not long after seeing this thread I bought a new Dewalt 235 circular saw for slicing up my slab timber (bearings finaly died in my old saw). Nice saw heaps of power but quite a bit of vibration from the blade, about this time I also had to pick up a part for my Makita belt sander and they had a Makita Blue blade on the bench, $30, I thought ok, the compound saw is as smooth as silk so I got one. Very happy for the money spent, no doubt a Freud would be better but for $30 I now have near enough to nil vibration .
These blackbutt slabs are 50mm thick and 3m long, the ones standing up in the background are 70mm thick. Cut like butter, ok, cheese.
