    Default Collet nut...

I have lost the collet nut for my Triton router. Are these nuts standardised or do I have to source a new one via Triton?

    Thanks!

Depending on the machine's age, there are two styles of collet base, collet and nut. Early TRA 001 units had a female base and mail 1/2 inch screw in collet, the MOF was introduced with a male base, and interchangeable separate 1/2 and 1/4 collets with an incorporated nut , or metric equivalents and an 8mm as well for European countries. The TRA collet was subsequently updated to that used on the MOF, and the JOF was also released with that style collet assembly, so the three models share the same collet assembly currently.

You would need to be clear about the collet style when enquiring about a replacement unit. It is possible to remove the original style assembly from the router spindle and replace it with the newer style.
