    Default core hole drilling

I am in the market to buy some core hole tools. I am mainly interested in brick and concrete block walls and i believe this rothenberger www.rexcrystal.co.uk/item.php?itemsID=1066 dry core hole kit should suffice. I can get it for a good price so I think it will be the one. Apparently dry drilling is fine for non hardened concrete.

Does anyone know of a cordless drill which would suit? It recommends drills of minimum 850 watts, clutch, variable speed, capable of 3000rpm, non hammer.

I have a brand new Dewalt 18 volt rotary hammer drill which is quite powerful and hammer can be turned off but surprisingly it is only 300 watts/1100rpm!

The tool will be used for work so needs to be up to the task, however I don't fancy carrying one of those massive dedicated core hole drills around, particuarly since i can't bolt it to the clients brick wall like they do in industrial applications.

    Any thought's greatly appreciated.

That links seems to be broken

Haven't heard of any cordless with that much speed or power. For this application I think the clutch they specify is not the type seen on cordless drill which is typically for driving screws to a certain torque. I suspect it is a clutch like on these tools:

which prevent twist injury, and I don't know of any cordless with that type of clutch either. Does it need to be cordless?

    Cheers

I have a Milwalkee 28V cordless and have used it to drill 75mm core holes and it did it pretty easy. In saying that they were wet cores in concrete horizontally.
