    Default CTJ-680 Thicknesser Advice

    Hi ladies and gents,

OK on Friday night I picked up a second hand 15" CTJ-680 Thicknesser and a 6" Jointer.

The Thicknesser is probably overkill, I was going to buy a 12-1/2 but the price was good so I though I may as well go for it as I got it at what I thought was a good price.

The jointer needed a bit of work, the table was a bit rusted etc and I need to adjust the blades and will give the magnet thing a try, thanks for the vid guys, but otherwise all is looking good a coat of paint next weekend and a new stand and all will be .

Anyway was looking over the manual for the Thicknesser and it really doesn't have much in the way of routine maintenance besides changing the blades and the oil.

Anyone got any advice for me on the Thicknesser, what I should look out for check etc etc etc.

    Thanks in advance

    Willy

    You'll be needing this...........
    http://images.grizzly.com/grizzlycom...ls/g0453_m.pdf

It isn't exactly the same but it's more than close enough for your purposes. The only difference is the position of the motor and the fact the table moves in this model not the head (as in yours).

You might also want the manual and parts list for this http://www.grizzly.com/products/G0452 because it is a 6" jointer that is (as with the thicknesser) common to many of our CarbaLetaJetecon sourced machines
Ours is not to reason why.....only to point and giggle.

Major Panic posted a thread about setting up a thicknesser. It has everything you need.
