I've never had that problem when cutting it. All I've had is white swarf every where that seems to become magnified and clings to everything but just brushes off.

Just as another thought was the blade blunt and was melting the plastic instead of cutting it.

I'd just scrape most of it off with an old chisel then cut some wood with it

On the blade or on the teeth or both?

On the blade, scrape it off with a razor scraper.

On the teeth, cut some wood. if it still stays there it's probably clinging to the resin from previous wood cuts. Use a cleaner like Simple Green or oven cleaner and in necessary a scrubbing brush.

Give it a hit with non-caustic oven cleaner. It will remove the plastic and any resin that's on the teeth.

    Thanks guys

The plastic is white and on the blade not the teeth and the blade is new.

I have tried to cut some timber but it stays on. I will try to scrap it off.

    Thanks again.

I will let you know the result.

    Regards

Here's a suggestion from left field.. I know it works on chewing gum. Try freezing it and then crack it off when its brittle.

In the last week I bought a new hand saw and used it to cut plastic storm water pipe. Same problem - lots of plastic stuck to the saw. I just used some steel wool and it came off OK. I suspect that the problem may have been a coating on the blade because it also dulled the shine on the rest of the blade even though I only rubbed very lightly.

    Update

I scrapped the blade with a "Stanley knife" blade and it cleaned off the plastic. It is interesting to note that only one side (the one without any writting on it) of the Bosch blade was affected.

Do Bosch blades have some type of coating on them? I ask this because when I was scrapping with the Stanley Blade I noticed that some areas of the blade "coating" was also being removed.

How slowly did you do the cut, maybe friction melted the plastic.
