    Angry Dead router

Don't know if this should be posted here!?

I have killed my router - granted it's only a 1500W GMC that has been mounted in a Triton table.

Is it possible that they have a thermal cutout or have I just fried it and how would I check??

I am afraid my filing system is non existent and therefore I don't have the destruction manual!

Just can't afford a good replacement at this stage!

Any thoughts would be most welocme!?
    Cheers,

    Matt Spl@tt

Mebbe ya got dust in the switch contacts.

Mebbe the little cap that holds the brushes in has loosened so the brush is not in far enough. Feel the caps and make sure they are both in the same distance and tight. The same thing happened to mine, I super glued the bastard in. When it dies next and I can't fix it because of the glue, I have the perfect excuse to buy a Triton.
    Otherwise Bob has the answer.

    Hi Mattsplatt,

Sorry to hear that you you have lost your router.
It's a GMC and it's likely you purchased it less than 3 years ago.
Take it back and get it replaced under the three year warranty.
Me thinks that even if you don't have the reciept, Bunnings or
whoever sold it to you will have to get it replaced for you.

Then, when thats done trade it in for Makita or a Hitachi.

    Alan
