Dewalt 18v finishing nailer
I have a Dewalt 18v angled finishing nailer and Im looking for some 32mm nails.
Apparently here in Australia Dewalt dont stock them. (madness I know)
At the moment I have to buy the 32mm Paslode impulse nails, my local tool shop very kindly removes the gas cylinders and sells me just the nails.
Trouble is 4 or 5 of my fellow fixing carpenters have also discovered this great little finishing gun and the tool shop cant meet our demand for nails (he can only split so many packs)
Due to the nature of my work I only require 32mm nails (I also have a Paslode impulse gun but found it very unreliable)
Does anyone know if I can get the Dewalt nails in Australia or if any other brands of nails fit the gun.
thx paul

I use 38mm nails for fixing-- just be careful where they come out.
Obviously the Paslode nails fit?

Yes the paslode nails fit perfectly its just the tool shop is struggling to meet the demand.
I also use 38mm at a push but much prefer the 32mm for use with shelving, quads, scotia etc.
It annoys me that Dewalt Australia sells the nailer which clearly says on the side of the gun 32mm - 65mm yet refuses to stock the 32mm nails......ridiculous

I know that the DeWalt straight bradder uses standard "C" brads. I would've thought that the angled bradder would use another easily available standard nail.

I have this gun and it is a bewdy, alright. AFAIK, any 20 degree angled nail of the proper gauge will work (Bostich, Paslode, DeWalt, Bosch, Senco). But . . . the finish nails used in air-driven guns are not always the same gauge as the DeWalt battery gun, that's the catch. Dunno why you are having trouble getting 32mm length--should be readily available.

Have you looked at DA series nails at your toolshop / hardware store, they may be suitable.

thay are standard "C" series brads. these are avaible from pasolde with and with out gas, ask the tool shop to order some boxes in for you. IE C32mm brads. (not impluse value pack)

Gaza, as you'll be aware C brads are a straight brad, the Dewalt gun Paul has is an angled nailer.

Just curious pomp,is your 18v nailer supposed to take 15 or 16 gauge nails?
I just bought one (15 gauge) and can get the 32mm nails anywhere here in Adelaide.

I also looked at this tool for fitting quads after the timber floor is down.
From your experience how many nails do you get in before its flat ?
Does it loose power as it runs low and leave the nails hanging out or does it just stop ?

I'd say the Dewalt 15gauge MIGHT be a bit overkill for doing quad. Can split it pretty easily I'd say.Could be wrong though,as I dont do that kinda work regularly.
When i have,I've used my Paslode 16gauge for quad and it has split it coupla times and is bloody annoying. That was only 15mm quad though.
Ill try and give it a go with my Dewalt and letcha know asap.
My mate tried my new nailer 2 days ago and loved it.He has ordered one and has sold his Paslode.
It has 'headlights' that come on every time you use it and will flash when it needs a charge.I'd say it wouldnt jam a nail half way through a shot.
I charged mine from new 5 days ago and is fine, yet i only use 20 or 30 nails per day.
The Dewalt is heavier and taller but I will most definatley buy another one
Hope this helps

DeWalt
Hi everyone,
Hope someone can help me.
I am renovating a house and need to build a deck a pine fence and nail and glue a timber floor over concrete.
By the time I hire a nail gun I may as well buy one.
Is there one gun that would do these three jobs ?

I bought a Bostitch 16ga angled nailer (s/h off Ebay). The collation angle is 25 degrees compared with the 20 degree angle of Paslode and Dewalt. I'm having the opposite problem to you guys in that I can get 32 mm Paslode and Dewalt nails but not Bostitch locally.
