    I ended up buying the Dewalt DCK280C2 kit from bunnings. VERY happy with it so far. They feel great in your hand and are nice and light with the smaller batteries.

    I built a timber retaining wall with it this morning and the power of the impact driver is ridiculous.

    thanks for the recommendation Leyton. I would have just bought makita otherwise.

    Ha! You cna thank the collective wisdom of the forum - they helped me too. Can't wait to use mine, plenty of DIY stuff to do after Christmas.
