    Hi Swiftden,
I grew up using my fathers Durden and about a year ago found one for myself.
I would like to give advice on price but know that the one I have was an absolute bargain and part of a job lot.
I find them to be a very solid machine and really reliable. It is a pity that it does not have a tilting arbour but the trade off is a more rigid construction.
I have extended out the base to a little larger than the top to improve stability.
    Cheers
    Tom

"Tilting Arbour" - the arbour is the shaft on which the saw blade is mounted. A tilting arbour saw allows the whole motor and shaft to be tilted up to 45 degrees; this for the purpose of cutting a mitred edge.
