I havent used these, but Elektra Beckum have quite a good rep in Europe. German made, and owned ( I think Metabo are a sister company of EB).
Elektra Beckum originally only made Table saws and bench grinders. companies been in business since about the early 60's.
If they are in good condition, You can probably do a lot worse. Why are they for sale, is what you have to ask.
    Cheers. Gary.

I know they got a good rep but I reckon their saw benches are light and tinny.
Their scms is great, induction motor direct drive, very quiet to use.

    Hi Shedhand

They have a few models of the TKHS 315 with different motor power, voltage and table shape.
    You can find it here
    http://www.metabo.com/eb/com/en/prod...larsawbenches/

I have the PK 255 with sliding table and I'm very satisfied.

On the left colmn of the page they have "instruction manuals". PDF, so you can see more than the picture shows. Just choose the model.

Mate has a big EB bandsaw in his workshop, and I'm very unimpressed with the build quality - any of the Carbatec "CE" bandsaws are better, even the one I saw that had been 'dropped' by the freight company. Jet are even better.

    Arrow Keep looking I will

Thanks for the heads up Niki. It looks a bit lightweight for my liking (agree with Echidna there!). I'll keep looking around.
    Cheers

mate if you keep buying tools machines at the rate your going, by the time you have that 30 x 20 finished you'll be needing to extend it for more storage space
you never stop learning, till the day they shovel dirt on your face

I had a 2HP 300mm table saw with a sliding table, tilt, rise & fall. Galvanised sheet metal. Excellent AEG motor. This was my only saw for about 20 years and it was OK, good rip capacity, ran nicely, easy to move around - but there are disadvantages: 1) no mitre slot on the right of the blade (or the left, but you have the sliding carriage on the left instead). 2) it is hard to maintain accuracy with both the fence and the tilt. I upgraded to a TSC10-HB with only occasional (sentimental) regret. I traded the Elektra on a new 12 speed pedestal drill valued at $540NZ - straight exchange.
