    Default Fein Multitool-Switch Operation

I've had my fein multitool for a no. of years now,use it only when need arises.Perfect tool for tight places, been happy with the end product and had good results on the job tasks tackled. The only bugbear I have (other than the usual; price of replacement blades) is the difficulty operating the On/Off switch.I tend to have to use my thumb nail.Is it just me or more common than anticipated?

I have the Fein multimaster and the switch became difficult to slide on and off after using in a dusty cement environment.
It was fixed with a small squirt of Inox a few months back and has operated flawlessly. Great stuff the Inox - can be purchased in many shops including bunnings. Do NOT use WD40, it will gunk up the switch.

I have a 115mm angle grinder that I use with a diamond disc. It is a very harsh environment for it due to talcum powder like dust generated by the diamond disc. Had the same problem with the switch. Sprayed it with something that helped for a while then it all solidified making me have to dismantle the angle grinder and cleaning out the sludge. My recommendation would be to use compressed air to keep the switch from binding up and no squirt at all

My wife bought me my Fein Multitool 10 or more years ago. Don't use it much but when I do it is because nothing else would get in to do it. The Fein is over priced (IMHO) and I file the timber blades sharp again with a small saw file. That way I get a fair bit of mileage out of them. They really are a great tool
    Just do it!

    Kind regards Rod
