GMC service
I have fairly recently bought a GMC platinum series 9 1/4" circular saw. (the "trade use" one.) It appears identical to the Dewalt equivalent. (but about $160 cheaper)
I have been very happy with the saw except for the height adjustment which is stiff and difficult to use. It is also the only visible difference from the Dewalt - the dw has a thicker bracket with the curved slot in it. On mine the bolt has been turning in the slot, making it difficult to tighten.
I phoned GMC about it this morning as I wanted to avoid the two hour each way drive to where I bought it. They were very obliging about it and have posted out a new bracket and bolt for the height adjustment. It was all done over the phone so they couldn't see a receipt or witness the fault for themselves. I think this is very good service.
Chris.

Great to hear!
I have had similar quality service, but over email. Seems they are slowly building themselves a good name in the budget-priced tool arena. Good to see.

Yep, same with me. These guys are really trying to make things pleasant for their customers. I hope the other tool importers are feeling the pain and picking up their game in the customer service area.
