Check the Triton column - Bunnies have just moved a stage further in their conversion to Ryobi tools only & now will no longer stock any GMC/Triton tools. GMC is still going, still selling to all the other stores, but they may have a bit of bumpy ride.

According to Bunnings staff, a directive today is a cease to all trade with GMC, effective immediately.

I wonder if this will apply to Bunnings NZ? theres quite a haul of GMC gear at my local one, might have to keep an eye out for upcoming clearance specials

GMC not going broke, Bunnings Oz moved to exclusive with Ryobi (TTI). GMC still fine with Bunnings NZ - exclusive in NZ to them.

Independents now have GMC exclusive with Bunnings decision...not bad for them now they have a national brand name to take on Bunnings. Wonder how Bunnings will react with Ryobi when Independents have $99 Generators, compressors, mitre saws, drills etc that sell out and Ryobi cant provide something with such a low margin hit

    interesting times ahead........

Yes, it will also be interesting to see how both companies restructure their supply chains to maintain profitability. One will rapidly shrink their distribution network whilst the other must grow theirs.

    Interesting times indeed
