Hammer assessory question for Brendan
Brendan
The March 2007 issue of Furniture and Cabinet Making was in the letter box tonight. Within it is a review by John Lloyd of the Hammer A3 31 Planner.
what caught my eye was the optional bed extension tables and John's comment "they are interchangeable between other Hammer machines."
The extension tables come in two lengths 400 and 800mm and hook onto mounting bars at the end of the infeed and outfeed tables.
A light bulb immediately went off inside my head
If I could get an extension table or a pair of tables (depending on how they are sold) and the matching aluminium extrusion, then I could retrofit the extrustion to my jointer, table saw, bandsaw (maybe even the bench) for those occasions when I need a longer table.
So Brendan, are they available in Australia?
can you buy the matching Hammer extrusion for them?
how much? (PM me on this one if your agreement with Neil precludes posting prices)

G'day Ian....
The tables certainly are for sale in Australia, and are quite a popular accessory for our machines. You can also buy the extrusion from us.
Neil has never minded me giving out prices. Hey - I'm only embarrassing myself, right?
400mm x 150mm extension table - $217 each
800mm x 150mm extension table - $291 each
Table extension supporting leg (for 800mm extension table) - $135
310mm mounting rail (alu extrusion) - $98 each
410mm mounting rail (alu extrusion) - $103 each
All prices include GST, but not postage / handling.
Thanks for your enquiry.Retired member

Thanks Brendan
Do the Hammer saws use the same extrusion for the rip fence?
I think you better send me a catalogue, see my PM to you

how's the fire fighting going, or should I interpret something from your signature crumpy

G'day ian,
The designated Hammer saws (K3) and combo saw/spindle (B3) use a round bar guiding system for the rip fence. There is an 800mm x 150mm extension table available for the round bar - $400 which includes the leg support.
The full Hammer combo machine uses the same extrusion for the rip fence as is used on the planer tables.
Catalogue on the way!
Fire fighting is delightfully quiet with all the rain of late.Retired member
