Default Hare & Forbes ST-250 new saw

Just looking at the 2005 Hare & Forbes catalogue on their website and it seems they have a new table saw complete with sliding table.
In the bad quality photo it looks a bit TSC-10HBish and is $1250.

Has anyone seen the saw or if passing Hafco drop in and have a look and let us know what they think.

    Clint

Hi All,Looks like the same one sold by Leda and available from carbatec without the sliding table for about $900 if you go to the website or $750 in the catelogue.I think it's the MJ2325B. Its quite a bit less solid than the TSC 10Hb and won't take a dado blade. However the sliding table looked quite solid for the price, compared to some of the other cheap sliding table saws.
I don't own one but have looked at it as I'm in the market for a table saw.
Currently waiting for stock of Tsc 10Hb to arrive at carbatec Melb. After reading several of the posts here about formentioned organisation I'm not holding my breath!

The sliding table extends further than the catalogue photo (its been cropped) and the stamp says it is an MJ2325 made in China. The sliding fence is ok but generally the quality seems a bit rough. The one in carbatec is rated at 2hp whereas the hafco is 3hp. They advertise it in store under the $1200 mark.

I am guessing it is the same than the TSC-250 sold by timbecon
Not as heavy duty as the TSC-10HB.

I think it is the MJ-2352-A from Timbecon not the TS 250.

Well having spent the day out at Cannington and Bentley looking at just this thing I would like to say...

Forget Fiora Machinery in Cannington for anything!

Im gonna be polite with my comments in deference to Robbos rules of engagement but..

I arrived at Fiora first thing this morning {9am} having seen that saw {ST-250} on their website and was greeted by a young sheila who honestly wouldnt have had a clue which end of a saw blade you cut with let alone what button to push to start the flamin thing!... and that machine was there but although the internet site states ST-250 = $1250 and that they actually had that machine in the store the price tag on that machine yes the ST-250 was $3999 + GST :eek:no it was not the ST-250S which is $3395 not the $3999 that this machine was marked at I checked

The girls response to my comments regarding the ST-250 being on the website on the net for the lower price and handing her the print out of the page was "Oh were not on the net here someone else puts the information on the site we are only the distributor for them but we dont have access to the internet here so I cant check that but I will get their catalogue and have a look" She did that but the phone rang as she arrived with catalogue in hand I asked her to leave it with me while she answered the call she didnt taking the thing with her she raced to answer the phone!... then stayed on the phone for over 10 minutes while I stood around scratchin myself!!

Needless to say I left and went to Timbecon... Im presently tossing up benifits negatives for the sliding table saw {TS-250} against the non sliding table saw {TSC-10-HB}... Im somewhat taken with the TS-250 the sliding mechanism is brilliant the table itself is damned near perfect accessiblity is better than good... but... always a but eh?... well the TSC-10-HB is a more robust machine all round it also has what I decided I would demand for my next table saw three belts!... the 10in contractor saw I bought a year ago has just one belt and is a pain in the proverbial loosing torque when raisin the blade so much so that in the end we had put a sandbag on the motor to hold the thing taut against the belt!! drove me nuts!... so Im one the one hand leaning toward the TSC-10 because of that factor but on the other I do like the thought of a sliding table given the lengths of some of the timbers I tend to cut and the fact that Im going to be cuttin panels of ply shortly... decisions eh? what an awesome quandry to be in!!!

During my cogitations there I spent a bit over $3000... and have ordered the 18" Bandsaw {BAS-470} which will arrive tomorrow!!!!... Go Timbecon!

With service like I recieved I for one shall not return to hare and forbes distributor Fiora Machinery in Perth... thats for sure!

Now that was my experience of the service I got there today... this doesnt mean theyre always like that and quite probably they are not others will have glory storys of the service they have recieved... however it was enough that I took my business elsewhere.

Anyone need a near new barely used 12 1/2in Sherwood thicknesser? Or a 10in Sherwood Contractors saw?

Oh! I forgot to mention the new 15in thicknesser {TBW-3801} Lathe {MSL-3815} and 8" Jointer {TBJ-8-A} are also RIPPERS!!!
Believe me there IS life beyond marriage!!! Relax breathe and smile learn to laugh again from the heart so it reaches the eyes!!
