Hi Beccs, the more popular brand names as you mention are all pretty good and my advice to you is find the tool that will do the intended job with out the drill/driver over working. The other thing would be see how the feel in your hand and make sure it is comfortable to hold and grip and and how your finger copes with the trigger. Some brands have a thick neck/handle and will be difficult to hold properly with out your hand and finger straining too much if your will be using it for most of the day. Another suggestion would be look for one that has a belt clip fitted to it as this will give you a free hand for your fitting up and not having to find some where to place it when you are up the ladder, and make sure it has Li ion battery. Most of the good trade brands carry a good warranty 2-3 years but in order to get the longer warranty you will have to register the purchase online and this can be done at the point of sale or at home. The final thing would be try to buy a combo unit which consists of drill/driver and impact driver (which are great by the way) as these combo s may be a tad more expensive than the drill/driver on its own. All the top end line of cordless drill/driver are fairly similar on price and have to be in order to be competitive. Good luck and let us know of your purchase.
