HELP! Before I do it!!
Okay as things settle down here and she seems to have finally decided upon a course of action with this place... it seems like I should be in a good position to finally decide a course of action regarding purchasing a sawmill.
So Im 99% sure I will be getting an 8in ATS with slabber attachment from Petersons as it seems the best bang for the buck and more mobile bush friendly than say a woodmiser type and will no doubt have enough logs around here to keep myself busy for a time
But Im wondering what chances there are that there would be enough work around WA to make this a viable business venture?
The area Id initially cover would be from Perth through to Bunbury north then Bunbury to Albany south with an option for the goldfields beyond that (got kids out there so bi-monthly visits)... but Im wondering what the prices are that mobile millers are asking nowadays? I had a shocking time even finding one when we dropped the Tuarts a few years back and it wouldnt be much easier now Id hazard a guess... back then it was $70per hour plus travel but that was back in about 2002 or 3 for a woodmiser... I actually never found anyone with a sawmill such as Petersons or the Lukas mill just the woodmiser type bandsaw mill which meant he was limited and if it was here the logs would have sat and grown mushrooms because he wouldnt have been able to access some of them.
So ANYWAY!! Any of you blokes got any clues ideas or thoughts? like where the hell would I start to figure this out!!!Believe me there IS life beyond marriage!!! Relax breathe and smile learn to laugh again from the heart so it reaches the eyes!!

Hi WD. As far as woodmilling goes, all I can offer is good wishes. From the economics point of view, if you would like some help in working out your break even point just let me know.
Cheers
