Default hitachi cordless hammer drill and circular saw review

    The good and the bad.

l brought the hitachi cordless brushless 6 1/2" circular saw - and its great, really light, cuts up to 66mm thick, l couldn't be happier, great control very thin blade etc.

On the other hand the brushless hammer drill keeps jumping out of the hammer mode, (did from the start) so l have to hold it onto the setting, very disappointed, l will email Hitachi and Adelaide tools to find a solution.

Hitachi have a 3 year warranty - l hope they are legit.

Just a heads up, l have since tried a Milwaukee and Dewalt hammer drill, the Dewalt seemed very good (quicker), thats probably because it was brushless and the Milwaukee wasn't.

Hi mate I haven't owned any hitachi tools mainly Makita but I think you wont have any troubles they may even give you one in exchange and send the other one away to be looked at (best possible scenario) I was working on a sight a while ago and a bloke had a cordless rotary hammer drill Makita so light weight and no cords I used it a few times and went and bought one from total tools on the way home hope it works out for you nothing worse than being stuffed around .

Hey Crispy, l chose Hitachi as they are reputed to be very good, l will try the handle that came with the drill and see if that locks the hammer mode in, (cannot find the receipt) your right about the cordless tools - they have come a long way since the crappy GMC era, GMC were absolute rubbish.

l did buy a cordless Makita drill a few years back (ni-cad), but it sheared some gears, and died, but the makita electric hammer drill in very good.

l'll keep looking for the receipt and take it from there.
