Hitachi DH36DAL repair/help
Anyone got any experience with repairing this model ?
Can't seem to remove the selector knob on the side.
Work was throwing it out as it would no longer drill holes with hammer, so I have stripped it down and found the pinion is shredded.
I want to disassemble it and throw it in the parts washer and clean it up and regrease it, but can't get this bloody knob off...
I have the IPL, but it doesn't really help with repair instructions.
Thanks fellas.

Ring hitachi on 1800100600 they will be able to send you a breakdown diagram & advise you. if the gears are stripped you will also need to put a service kit thru it too

Thanks VEK.
I went and visited the service guys there and they were very helpful.
For anyone else wanting to know, to remove the selector knob on the side, remove the small grub screw and then turn the knob so the arrow faces down, then gently pry the knob off. Don't loose the ball bearing under there though..be careful.
Thanks VEK and thanks Hitachi.
