Cleaning hole saws
What is the best way to clean the gunk that collects on the teeth and nearby areas of a hole saw? I would like to do this after each use, before storing away.

If it's sticky and the turps and brush won't shift it - use a non-caustic oven cleaner.
Cheers

To add a bit of physical removal power use a brass brush, like the kind used for cleaning spark plugs.

Would you believe an overnight soak in stale steeped ground coffee works! I keep all our stale coffee and make up a brew (half cup of ground coffee and couple of cups of boiling water - I use it on me chainsaw chains as well to get the resins off the chain. This also works on circular saw blades and (unlike caustic) does not affect the solder used to hold the carbide tips on.
PS: Do not drink the resulting brew.

Thanks for these helpful replies, everyone.
Sadly , Bobl, I am not a coffee drinker ( gives me the shakes), andI don't think a soaking in camomile tea would have the same effect as stale coffee.
I suspect soaking it in Coca Cola might just work too. I remember it used to bring the old penny coins etc up like new.
But I have plenty of turps , and you can drink that too if really desperate - now that would really give me the shakes
regards,
Jill

Jill most coffee shops will gladly fill a cup with used grindings (or coffee biscuits - use to have great fun putting whipped cream on top of them and offering them to newbies as chocolate coffee biscuits when I worked as a barista) for you, most just chuck it all in the bin anyway.
