Problems with Hitachi SB8V2 Sander
I am hoping someone can give advice. I received my sander yesterday and started to use it today on a project I have at home. belt keeps slipping across the plate and I know it is going to damage the inside of the machine as the Ryobi did, the paper chewed away the plate inside. We checked and double checked that we had the belt installed correctly and adjusted on the tensioner as per instructions, but the belt still slips. Any Suggestions Hitachi dont want to know about it even though it was not cheap. The sander is also gouging the wood where the paper has torn. Any advice would be good advice. Thank you.

There is a sort of tracking adjustment on those sanders, hold it off the work and let it freewheel while you adjust it, if you can't get the hang of it take it back to where you bought it and get them to step you through it.
You'll have to replace the torn belt.
