Default Can anyone ID this compound mitre saw?

Hey, was hoping someone might know what model the following saw is. Am looking at picking up a second hand one, and this looks like it might be ok. Though a touch on the old side. Any assistance would be appreciated!

One of the original makita slide compound saws.

You had to be very direct when using the slide part or you could cut of line.

As the user indicate has done a lot of work

Looks like a hard worked LS1211 Makita. These saws are loud, they do not have an induction motor and the drive is given to excessive wear. I have had one from new that has given many years service with regular upkeep.

Hi, looks like it might have been new when flared Corduroy Pants were the height of fashion.
But like disco is probably well past its used by date.

Looks rather old and knackered and might be worth a punt at $50 but looks rather expensive at 170 plus postage.

As has already been stated, with a single slide bar is probably not too rigid.

Yeah have been mulling it over and think it's probably wisest to wait it out until one from the last century surfaces! Thanks again.
