Alright. Now I'm gonna have to get a few too.
Does someone have the phone number for Paul's? I assume from the conversations I have followed over the last few months that they post these planes out if requested...

Oh no Alistair, you don't know how far down the slope I realy am, quite a long way really. The best I can do now is to try and limit the speed of the further slide.

Boy am I missing out!
Hello All,
Pardon My ignorance but what are these planes everyone is talking about and who and where is Pauls?
As a tool purchasing junkie I just know i am missing out on something that I absolutely "need".
any feedback would be appreciated.
Regards,
Scott.

MujingFang planes are Chinese made wooden planes that for the price are terrific value. In a lot of peoples opinion they outperform a modern Stanley or Record.
Doing a search will turn up heaps of information.
Paul's is a hardware shop in the SYdney CBD that sells them.
Expect to pay around $24 each for them.

Little Muji just arrived overnight from Pauls. Oh my gawd aint it a sweet little thing, straight out of the plastic I shaved the finest shaving off my desktop. I definitely qualify as a demented slope slider now.

On a more important note it would appear that the blade has a lot of potential, almost polished on the back though I dont know yet how flat it is. If the whole thing is as good as it appears then serious consideration will have to be given to buying a few more. Slip Slip

Guys
Courtesy of CraigB I now have 4 of them. My favourite is the 7" smoother.
The 10" western style is a bit savage compared to the 7" one, but worlds ahead of my no. 4 stanley (new). I made some shavings of radiata that you can read writing (of about 8point font) through . I didn't know they have a high angle one, might have to get one of those too. Craig????Cheers

I'm ready to be corrected though.
