Japanese corner chisel
I purchased a Japanese corner chisel awhile ago. Thinking this would be nice for such things as corners....Der!.
Anyway over the weekend i was ahnging a couple of doors using a router trimmer to remove the bulk. And then great, i can use the chisel just to finish off the corners. I placed the chisel in the corner and something wasn't lining up with my scribed lines. The chisel or my lines were out. Anyway i places an engineers square across the chisel the chsiel is 25mm x 25. It was out by approx 3/4mm. making the chisel just about useless. So somehow i have to re-square this chisel. I think my best option is a friend who a surface grinder....Anyway bit of a pain.

I am not even a little bit surprised. Some of the tools here are pretty rugged...
Could you use a guide block of some kind, like a piece of sqaured up hardwood, on a stone or belt sander to square it up yourself? No reson you couldn't do it freehand either, just take it slow and you should get there.
I only say this as I made up a dovetail chisel with sides at 80 degrees to match the dovetails I had to clean up, and it worked out as close to perfect as I could imagine. It wouldn't be difficult to make the sides of something a perfect 90 degrees, just a little more attention to detail is all.
Any chance you can take it back to where you got it and check if they actually have a square one?
