Jet Parallel Clamps
Considering the amount of coverage given in these forums to Bessey Clamps, I am surprised that there has been no interest shown in these new clamps from Jet. http://tinyurl.com/n9l9s
Has anyone seen these new Jet Parallel Clamps? Are thy available here in Australia from any of the Jet distributors? How about you US members - any comments on these?

Look good... Nothing like a sturdy thread to apply a bit of pressure... Be interesting to see how strong the clutch is.
I know it's another kettle of fish, but I haven't seen anything in here about SOLO clamps. Unbeatable for a quick clamping and far superior in quality to all the copies floating around...

As for Bessey... I've got two of their band clamps and a bunch of the self-adjusting corners and they're the best bloody thing since sliced bread!

Thanks for the tip! Always good to collect info on what's new out there - and a bit frustrating when you know you can't afford it...

jet clamps
They have had good reviews in the US woodworking magazines. They appear to be a copy/improvement on the Bessey's - very similar in appearance with the addition of the trigger mechanism to allow for quick positioning of clamp.
When WMH send them out here they will probably be very xxxy - most of their jet prices for extras and add ons is very pricey, but usually of good quality.

I've had a pair of those "solo" clamps for about 12 years now. The ones I've got are "Svenic" brand, made in England. Svenic made the first of those open framed caulking guns that everyone else does cheap copies of. I've still got the first one I bought about 17 years ago, a bit rusty (working on boats) and encrusted with all sorts of stuff, but still going strong.
