Default jointer - carbatec 6" deluxe

    Hi All,

Bought a carbatec 6"jointer at the show yesterday.

If you have one could you please measure the height and width of it to see if it will fit in the back of the landcruiser tomorrow.

Helpful chap at carbatec melb could only guess about a metre and seeing as the back is a metre high I need a bit more accuracey.

Thanks to any who can help.

    cheers

    Hi Daz,

The machine measures 1200 wide (width of bed) X 750 front to back and 950 high. If you got the one on display however it has an elecrical switch on a stand that mine and the picture shown does not have.

You were lucky to actually get something from them. Everything I wanted was sold, but I could have ordered there and then, but as postage was on top it defeats the exercise. I went to every outlet at the show for a dado set, none to be seen anywhere, same for a Incra Mitre guage. The Carbatec rep told me they only brought down stock for the floor.

I have to say that the show was one of the best attended events I have seen in Hobart for years. The place was packed, and it seemed that the same bloke was in my way wherever I went. Everything I went to look at he was there in front of me.

There was some fantastic stuff on display for the competition.

I did buy a tenon jig for $125 from Carbatec, the last one they had of course. I also got a cabinet scraper and some organoil.

    Thanks stubchain,

Thanks for that, I will go and measure up.

The show was good, david foster was on fire with the kids which was great.

Just needed some food to top it all off.

    thanks again

It's just a thought Daz, but make sure the machine includes all the tools. It could have been put together on the mainland and shipped here as is. Mine came with allen keys spanners etc that fiited the necessary nuts and bolts.

It should be packed anyway, packing crate should be no more than 300mm high 300wide 1500 long.

Unless it was like mine, which arrived in three separate crates/pallets over a period of about a month, with some bits having a round-trip tour of the east coast to keep them amused...

Mostly courier issues - according to C-T Brissy...

Never did get the tools (allen wrenches, etc) or cutter knife jig - had to buy one separately.

    Cheers!
