I bought a mig welder 250 amp output, came with a 15 amp plug, had written on the front of welder "max current input 45 A". No one has been able to explain how that is legal.

Yep, happens to me all the time. Run yr welder thru a cheapo powerboard and every time you stick the rod, the little red button pops.

    Whoo Woo...

    Boy - o - boy, don't 15amps half make some sawdust!

I got connected yesterday and have hardly stopped since. What a machine that jointer is.

Trouble now is...where in heck do I dispose of all those shavings?

I have mulched some into a compost heap, filled the main 240L garbage bin and am now seriously looking at the recycle bin....

Is there a quick way to break them down for garden use?

    Regards

    Neil.

I find neighbours and friends are great for disposing of shavings.

I have one guy who picks up about 3-4 bins full every 2 months for his rabbits (bedding) another who takes to mix with his green waste in compost bin. Next door neighbour has chooks so takes it for his chook shed and when I have overflowing bins just wheel next door and empty in chook pen. His brother also takes shavings for mulch.

Very rarely do I have a problem with excess shavings. I guess that on average, I would generate around 240-300 litres of shavings a week.

Thanks Kev, good thoughts there, my neighbor has chooks too.

I will try the local pet shop too.
