They are generally about $35 for the set at Bunnings yes they are a throw away but you can buy the bits singley if you break one and aren't that dear each. It is cheaper to buy the set. When I bought the set it had a special of a Bonus Door Latch installation kit with the speed bore and hole saw with it.

The only problem is the drill bits are metric.

There are some cheap sets around but are real crap. P&N has been around a long time.

Suttons also make a similar set but are dearer and don't come in the plastic box.

The keyless chucks on both my Mak drills are quite good, my xmas pressie has a very nice keyless(18v mak) as it has a "freewheeling ring" that you can hold on to, great for 1-2mm bits saves snapping them. Before the mak drills I had a ryobi cordless(1st comandforce series)that had a jacobs keyless, but I dropped it on some concrete(from the roof!)and snapped it clean in half so now the chuck and its drive shaft gets used in the drill press bloody brilliant! I brought another ryobi that looked identical but that was all(price line), the battery dies in 5 seconds and the chuck wouldnt put pressure dent on a daisy flower stem!
