For KS-12K owners
As of this afternoon I am now the proud (?) owner of a KS-12K table saw and a damaged credit card. Just wish one could walk in, make the planned purchase, and walk out again. As with all my previous Carba-Tec machine purchases there is the mandatory problem. The manual shows the base assembly using four legs. However, the saw is now shipping with a partially enclosed base. Unless I have done something wrong, the holes in the top of the base used to bolt the sawn down are now covered by the end enclosure panels. Have I screwed up, or do I need to drill new holes?

KS12K assembly tips
You should not have to drill any holes in the stand or the base of the saw table. The assembly of a KS12 is best attempted with the saw still in the delivery carton, table top down, and assemble the stand onto the skirt of the saw. When you have completed the assembly of the stand, roll the saw over onto its feet. You can then attach the motor ( hook up the power cable to the terminal box before bolting the motor to the motor mount otherwise it is a real cow to access the terminal plate) extn wings and fence and saw blade guard. For ripping, select a fairly coarse tooth blade..around 20T and for panel and docking cuts, 48 or 60T.

lyctus,
Thanks for the reply. Do you have four legs on your stand, or the enclosed base. I can see from the diagram how the legs could be assembled as per your suggestion. However, with the enclosed base the base plate sits over the top of the end enclosure thus covering the holes.

Hi Bob,
Can't help with the assembly side of things, mine came pre-assembled. I would suggest you have a look at the post by Wayne Davey about the rivving knife mod he made for this machine.

I bought a planer/thicknesser from this mob a few months ago. When I unwrapped my present, set it up and went to plug it in it had a European plug on it! Was not happy!!!!!!!

Hi Bob,
Just remembered this site that Wayne put me onto, might be more helpfull as far as manuals are concerned. I downloaded the G1022ZFXM 10" contractors saw manual, as I said mine came pre-assmbled but I did do a bit of stuffing around to get it level and square atc..

Bob, The stand you have is a recent model change. It incorporates a dust aperture.
First fix the top plate of the stand to your saw cabinet using the four elongated holes which are immediately alongside the four holes used to hold the dust spigot plate, then fix the sheet front and back leg plates to the top plate using the holes on the flanges of the leg plates, install the spreaders and fix the rubber feet to the bottoms of the leg plates. Job done.

Thanks for the input. I now have the saw table fixed to the stand. I am left standing red faced . Whilst the stand table looks to be symmetrical in layout, it is not. Just had to turn the saw table around 180 degrees and all lined up. With elongated holes on the base of the saw table, one would have thought that either way around they would have covered the hole in the stand table. Obviously a better wood worker than metal worker.
