    Default Best Laminate Trimmer

    I also want to buy a trimmer, most carpenters I know have Makita..
    Esp the metal 1, model n3701. I
    I'm looking at the 3709x. Similar specs and price but comes with case, not metal tho..
    Anyone got a favourite??

    I have the makita and its not a bad machine and use it quite a bit.
    Its quick and its light. But given my option to buy again i would go for and all metal base instead of the clear plastic. Maybe the Bosch, not sure, but Fine Woodworker and has done many reviews on trimmers although a few not available in Aust though.

    If you look in the ' Aust.power tool guide ' they have given the Makita 3707fc a 5 star rating. I also liked the idea of getting a carry case with the trimmer but decided to buy the 3707fc regardless.
    I only just purchased it so cannot give you any indication of pros/cons.

    I'm happy with my Makita N3701.
    I made a 'round' base plate for mine to make it more stable.
