Cool Left hand nut & stone backing discs for 8" Skil bench grinder?

    Good Morning boys & girls.

I'm looking for a couple of pieces for my bench grinder. It's an oldie but a goodie - an 8" (200mm) Skil (Model 3021) probably almost 30 years old.
At some stage (several ++ years ago) I took off the left hand stone & guard housing intending to fit a wire brush to it, but had probs with the brush wheel and left it off while I found a more suitable item.
In the meantime we have moved house and it was some time before I set up the grinder again, only to discover that the arbour nut (left hand thread - 9/16" - I think?) and the 2 flange discs that fit either side of the stone had disappeared. I thought I had wired them to the guard assembly for safe keeping, but no go .
So, teachers and students, would anyone have any suggestions as to where I might start looking for these particular items? I still have the nut and discs on the right hand side, but of course this nut is a standard right hand thread.
Although I'm a new boy here I have supreme confidence in this place after but a few days of trawling through posts & replies. You guys seem to know everything, or at least where to find the information to make it appear as if you do.

    Many thanks. Wayne

PS. Man, I'm going to have to get me one of those avatars and profound quote signature things shortly. Everybody seems to be full of wisdom here (or maybe ######## - can I say ########?)

Hmmmm...... I just previewed this. Guess I can't. How about bovine excreta? (preview again)......Yep! That seems to be OK.

A decent nut and bolt shop should be able to do something about both the errant nut and washers.

Failing that, an old school tool shop that actually does repairs might have some kicking around, or try some flea markets and garage sales.

Not like it's going to be some kinda wierd and mystical item, like NOS Stanley frog screws...

Should be able to source the LH threaded nut from a specialist tool shop I'd reckon, like Total Tools or similar.

The flange washers for the wheel, likewise, or have a workshop that does metal lathe work make some up for you.

    Cheers.................Sean
