Can I use a lock mortiser to cut mortises for MLT joints for entry doors?
Hi all,
I have been thinking about getting the virutex lock motiser for the obvious lock mortising, but I also would like to use it to cut the mortises for loose tenon joinery at the stile and rail. This mortiser can operate both vertically or horizontally unlike the Porter Cable or is predecessor the Rockwell which can operate only in the vertical position. I have use the rockwell mortiser for lock mortising and was impressed by the interior sufaces of the mortise. I felt it accurate enough for a M&T joint.
Has anyone any experience with the virutex that would suggest that this would be good idea or not?
