Lowering the catcher on a dust extractor
Hi All,
I have an extremely small shed and have pulled into two section my Carbatec 2 hp dust extractor. The motor I have placed on one side of my work bench and on the other side the filter bag and plastic collector bag. I know, some will ask why...but it just wont fit as one unit!
Question
I wish to lower the colletor unit around 250mm so I can run the 5 inch pipe under my bench top. Is there any problems with the plastic bag being shortened by 250mm from around 800mm to 550mm. My concern was with the air stiring up the dust already settled and reducing the effectiveness of the unit. Any thoughts.

Cheers
Tim
PS Have been working on this shed for a while so will post a couple of photo's with my set up. 5.4m by 3.2m

If it was me I'd shift the whole unit outside in its own little humpy... leave more room in your workshop and the dust outside.

Thanks Harry 72...if I had that option I would. If I had a few more square metres around my house I wouldn't have a small shed to start. But thanks for the thoughts. In fact I will be encasing the Dust bag and collector bag as a whole unit and ducting the exhaust air via a 5 inch pipe outside. Either via a chimney or floor pipe
