Luna W59
This is my first posting and I am using it to try to get in touch with other users of Luna equipment. Luna was BIG about 18 - 20 years ago when I bought my "Universal" combination machine (12" saw, planer/thicknesser, mortising attachment, spindle moulder), but it seems that the Swedish manufacturers gave up the ghost shortly thereafter. My machine is still going strong but it would be good to get in touch with any other users who have experience of locating spares and accessories. In particular, has anyone had experience with a dado saw set on their Luna? Has anyone used a tenoning jig on their Luna (a solid cast metal one, not a home-made one)?

Hi MOM, I'm not a user of the Luna woodworking equipment but have admired the machines for their capabilities and it's a pity that the company has now gone out of production.
There must be a host of machinery dealers around who have access to this gear and I would be surprised if some of them didn't have old stock around somewhere but like you said it's a need to contact those who may well know.
In W.A we have lost some of the dealers who I suspect may have been an option for you but I can suggest you try the following
Power & Tools Machinery....Bayswater > Perth
Ron Mack Machinery .....Osborne Park > Perth
Bills Machinery...Gnangara > Perth
Just some suggestions, they may not be of any use but they may well know how to circumvent your needs!

Well,i'm also an owner of a W59- 1983,should be about the same model as yours.Your right about Luna CO has nothing to do with Luna machinery today.Disappeared some 20 years ago,but stock was bought by another Company in the swedish woodworking buisness-Ejca(own homepage on the internet) .I've had some contact with them concerning the W59 and got some pamphlets too.
Can mail you a copy if you are interested.

Luna W59 spindle moulder
Hi, I'm a user of a Luna W59 combination and have been for the last 20 years, but I have never had the collet adapter to use router bits in the spindle moulder.I was wondering if somebody would know where I could purchase one or alternatively could someone give me enough information to make one.
Thanks GrahamLast edited by grahamb; 17th June 2005 at 10:50 PM.

Luna W59
I also have a Luna combination machine. It's worked very well except for the horizontal borer. The spindle never ran true and the chuck kept falling off as a result of the vibration that that caused. I have since removed it which is a great pity. I tried getting spares in Melbourne once to try to fix it but to no avail. But the planer and thicknesser work really well. I'd also be interested to know if anyone finds parts for it.
