Question What makes up a good tablesaw?

Well time has come (credit card is not panting so hard) to look at buying a table saw. I am a home wood worker and my major interest is constructing solid wood furniture.

I am happy to pay a little more to avoid having to pay twice. So if you were out to buy a good quality tablesaw to fit into a fairly small space what would to look at? Power? Quality of manufacture? Colour matching knobs?

What makes a good saw for you?

    Regards,

    Charles

This may sound simple but to me the most important aspect is accuracy , is it cutting square and true every time with minimal fuss and adjustment.

I had a 2hp Sontax contractors saw for several years and it drove me nuts !!! it was constantly going out of square and was never accurate from day one. it was close but never just right.

I tried many things to correct it, replaced fence with after market Jet, modified the arbour, new blades etc.... in the end I sold it and bought something with a bit more quality and am very happy.

don't care what label is on the box as long as it performs to a standard and has quality parts.
