    Default makita or bosch drill

I was in bunnings today and came across a Bosch PSB600 ($89) which includes various accessories like screwdriver bits, depth rod and others.

The Makita is bare for $99.

any suggestion on which one to get?

    thank you

When I was shopping around for a circular saw, and had a choice of makita or bosch the guy at the tool shop said makita is the better one for saws but bosch is the one to go for if you want a drill.

I have a 12 volt Makita, have owned it for about 7 years great drill and still going strong. We own an old place built from hard wood and the makita hasn't let me down.
    Dave,
hug the tree before you start the chainsaw.

If its a Green Bosch, get the Makita. Then again a sub $100 Makita drill probably has similar internals to the Green Bosch.

There's a blue Bosch for $129 without any accessories. Is that a better buy?

Without knowing what specs it is, ie how many watts. I would say it would be a better buy than the other two.

The green Bosch really is junk these days compared to a few years ago, which is a shame.
I've got a 1/4 inch Green Bosch router and a green Bosch jigsaw. Both were purchased in the early/mid 90's and are made in switzerland. The router rarely gets used, but the jigsaw gets alot of use, just had to replace the blade roller guide on it.

I would say its a tough call and for me it really depends whether you'd like a Japanese or German tool. I find the warranty on Makita is better and dealing with their service centre is easier than Bosch. And yes its true Bosch have alot of catching up to do when it comes to saws.
