    Default Makita cordless problems.

    Groover I have a 9.6v cordless and recemtly purchased 2 new batteries put 1 in the charger and came back after a while to check. I put the battery in the drill and nothing happened. How do I know if the charger is working? Damien.

    Start by using a multimeter to check the voltage of the battery.

    You may have a problem with
    a/ the tool; switches, battery contacts, motor or brushes etc,
    b/ the battery; contacts again, faulty, not charged,
    c/ the charger; is it working, does it have power, is it making contact with the battery, are you sticking with the charge time.

    The above is not a finite list of possible problems.
    Start by working through some of the possible problems and hopefully you will find a fault and a fix.

    Damien,

    Which Makita charger is it? Does it have any indicator or status lights like ... power is on .. battery is charging ... battery charged.

    As Handyjack said.. use a mulitmeter and check the battery voltage before and after charge. It may be as simple as the contacts not making contact in the charger and/or drill.
