    Default MAKITA PLANER BLADES....FREE

I have a brand new pair of High Speed Steel Planer blades for a Makita 1900B. They are 82mm or 3¼" wide. I bought them from Ebay because they "looked right" to fit my TOWA Planer that is getting hard to buy blades for. The overall shape with slots and threaded holes was right but just don't/won't fit my machine.
These are free to good home but I would like reimbursement for postage

Mr Lastdog, how do you know a Sydney based company when you are posting from Perth??? Nosey bugger, aren't I.
But thanks for the contact. I will give them a try. I vaguely remember that I got a set from Gasweld....but that was years ago. You know my Towa Plane is 42 years old??? Can't believe it. I was given a second one by my brother-in-law. It is a little older than mine but they still work fine. I have given both of them new bearings and brushes and they are running well but another couple of sets of blades should see them and me out

    Rod,

    Try this mob

Just got a couple of sets this week for my TOWA L120. I've got 3 of them and had no problems at all.

    Delivery was in 2 days.

If you ever need a belt for it I can try and found out who in the UK I got my last lot from. It took some effort to find replacements so I got a few.

    Hi Bleeder
I have just bought a Towa L100 mini plane and cannot find any info on that plane. Do you know if the blades you bought will fit my plane. They are 92 mm blades marked TOWA SKH4
    Cheers Jim

    Jim,

The only info I could find on the L100 was that the cutters are 3 5/8" ... same as the L120. I'll have to look on the original blades to see if there are any markings. (I still have them).

Found one on Ebay and it looks like an earlier model than the L120 I have (the blades might fit)

When I get home (been away for a few days) I'll take a photo of the new baldes and provide some measurements for you (between the screw holes).

This may help you decide that the blades will fit.

Do you have the blade setting jig and the blade sharening jig?

No neither jig came with it but I was able to pack out a makita jig to suit before I pulled them out to sharpen . Had to take a fair bit off as they look like they had been used to plane nails. Should be enough on them for probably 6 sharpens.
The photos would be great to compare with my blades.
    Cheers Jim

Ok I'll see what I can do. I was lucky as the first Towa was my dad's. It still had all the jigs.

I'll measure them up as well and post it here.

    Jim,

Here are the photos. The blades are marked SKH3. Hope this can help you.
