    Default chainsaw fixing

    i have a 076 stihl and was wondering if i could get some info.The sprigget or sprocket behind the clutch has broken and i will need to replace it how do i do this?

    If you cant work it out yourself i would suggest you takre it to a stihl dealer/repairer to get it done. It shouldnt cost much for that.

    Take the chain and bar and side plate off (two large nuts on the right hand side).

    Clean all muck away and then take a photo, upload photo and we can go from there.

    You'll need to remove the clutch, normally a nut from memory holding that's it on, which is best undone with a rattle gun and you can then slide the clutch and sprocket off. If you're going to replace they sprocket as suggested because it's broken, just take the saw in to a dealer minus side cover and all the dirt and crap, it'll take them 2 minutes to pull it off and put a new sprocket on. Most dealers will only charge you for the new sprocket.
