Does Makita sell spare parts in Australia?
Hi,
Just wondering if Makita stocks spare parts in Australia. I need a small part for a blower vac. It's only about 90 cents on ereplacement parts but postage is a killer.
Thanks

You should be able to get whatever you need at a stockist.
But beware ordering without knowing the price.
I needed the safety switch on a chop saw (its only an simple plastic plug that pushes on a button to release the handle).
It was .95 Pence in the UK, so I thought OK 3 or 4 bucks here.
Here in AUS I was required to pay 12 dollars for a plastic button.

Makita are one of the better suppliers of tools and generally have parts for any tool purchased in Austarlia and have them available for several years after they have stopped manufacturing that model.
My gem of wisdom is to only buy what I can get serviced and or get spare parts for locally.
may cost a little more to start with but in the long run it is maintainable for a lot longer.

Good Morning Treecycle
Sorry for the delay, but I have been away.
The NiCad batteries are Makita branded, and the individual cells have Sony logos. (I was intrigued and pulled them apart to have a look inside !)
Had a hard disk failure about a year ago and lost all history - cannot give you a link, sorry. I didn't need to back up ............
I just looked up the Makita part number and googled it - got lots of hits. Best ten prices were in Germany.

This should be available through any repairer that does Makita out door equipment.
If you are having problems finding a repairer either ring Makita on 1300 361 690 or go to "makita.com.au" and use the contact section to send an email and either way a positive answer will be forth coming....... That part plus all others for that model are available in Australia.
regards
