Metal Detectors
Hei Guys,
I need to get a metal detector for checking second hand timber before running it through the thicknesser.
Carbatec have the Little Wizard for $49, it's mainly going to be planks I use it on but it has to be reliable as the thicknesser is not mine.
Is this a good one, is there anything just as good but cheaper - thanks to my ex wife I kinda have no budget atm.
Cheers
Paul

I agree it really works. I have played around with both the $49 and the $69 units. The $69 (now $75) unit can pick up anything bigger than a 12 mm brad, in a vertical orientation to, and 3 mm from, the surface.
The $49 has a smaller head and less sensitivity so it takes a lot longer to scan the surface.
Cheers
