Here are a couple of shots of how I mounted my air filter unit, very simple, using the standard eyebolts in the unit, some hefty screw eyes (I thought about using eye bolts, but this is easily strong enough), and four clip thingies.
The whole unit just clips up there, and I did it on by own by lifting it sideways and clipping the first two on first.
There's no vibration to speak off going through the structure, and it's easy to get down if ever I have to.
I did have a chain arrangement at first, but this is much tidier.
cheers,
P

G'day Midge,
I see you still have that showroom you call a workshop
Been a while but I'm close to getting mine going again, - just thought I'd say Hi.

Jamie,
It's been so long that it's almost a blast from the past! The poor old workshop hasn't quite recovered from all the activity early in the year!
There's so much stuff around that the Canoe is still living half-finished in my study!
Must get my act together and have another gathering early in the new year eh?

LOL! If you're anything like me, once you've made one or two improvements you just gotta try 'em out before moving on to the next. And what better to try it out on than the jobs that've queued up while you've been making those improvements?
Of course, that puts you a week behind, so then you've got to catch up on those jobs... and before you know it, yet another year has gone by, you're still behind in the workload and it'll still be at least another week before you can start on the next improvement.

And before anyone asks, the DC system is still UNDER CONSTRUCTION!

Midge, it's nice to know others have their distractions too!!
I look like I'm going to have another move into a place with workshop space and yet another partner but we are happy and want to make sure that we have our own interests sorted. So if anyone has a place on the Coast that needs a good tennant then let me know. Probably Nerang to Yatala would be good.
Look forward to that GTG in the new year.

I hate to admit this, but the downdraft table is inextricably linked to the Dust Extraction system!
I think I have a few alternative plans hanging round if you need any info.

Well progress at home folks!
Number Seven (7) on the plan (if you go back to the first post) is the Mini Lathe bench. About two years ago exactly, I reported that it was nearly finished, and I must have been right, because last weekend I in fact did finish same!
Just as a refresher, the bench frame is ex-pergola oregon (Douglas Fir), the melamine top from a bit of office desk I scrounged a few years ago, the battened shelf and tool racks from "that" load of hardwood flooring, and the rear board from some old radiata "feature" cladding, the same stuff we built the first PDRacer masts from in fact.
It's been mostly usable for the last couple of years, but I've finally put the shelf in, which makes it a lot easier to clean up, with bits of timber off the floor and dust falling pretty much straight through.
I've done the same for the workbench. Actually the workbench was always designed to have this sort of shelf in it, and it looked so good I thought I'd do a matching one on the lathe bench.
I'll take a pic of the workbench next weekend, after I've tidied up a bit more!
Cheers,
