Miebach Colt Brad Point Bits
Hi all
I've noted Carbatec carry two types of Colt bits - "Twinland" and "Pro"....
Does anybody know what the difference between these types is, given a substantial price differential between them (about triple)???
Thanks in advance!

Astrodog, I am very familiar with Colt drills. The Twinland are made from Tool Steel and the "Pro" (or "Five Star") are from HSS steel and will therefore stay sharper much longer. The 5* are also diamond ground and are crazy sharp (which means they stay sharper longer again - the sharper an edge is the longer it will stay sharp).
I haven't used the Twinland but went straight for the 5*, and they are excellent in all areas (sharpness, chip ejection, staying cool so as not to burn timber, and FAST).
I currently have a thread underway which you may be interested to look at. I'm in the middle of finalising this group buy right now and just waiting for the new (lower) prices to be sent to me.
Please note: the prices shown in the spreadsheet are from the Colt Website, and are higher than the prices we will get.
