Mini frame jointing system needed
Can anyone tell me what's available in the way of concealed joinery systems for very small frames? The frames are rectangular about 130mm wide by 100mm high by 10mm thick. I don't want the fixing system visible from the back so they need to be something like mini biscuits. The frames are for bag handles so they need to be strong.

If you're game, you can make mortice/tenon joints down to 2 ~ 4 mm thick at the tenon - just careful handsawing and either use a sharp chisel or (for 4mm tenon) use a small router bit of that diameter and nake the tenon to fit.
Another alternative is to use dowels.
There are a few other methods too, but many involve a lot of darkness

would a mitred lap joint meet the "can't see it from the back" criteria?
with the right glue it would be plenty strong enough

Nice joinery ideas, but I'm thinking more along manufacturing lines on this project (ie machined and fast). On bigger frames (these are only 20mm wide by 10mm thick stock) I've used two biscuits in each mitre. I was wondering if there was something similar for small frames.

maybe you're looking at the Festo Domino. The 5mm joint might be small enough.
