Default Mixed bag: bayer track saw and ryobi mitre saw

    Hi everyone,
First post in these forums. Sorry if im about to ask a question that's been asked 1 million times before but Ive been having a little look to see if I have an answer to a couple of questions and I havent been able to find them.

So, firstly I very recently bought a ryobi sliding dual bevel mitre saw (still in the box currently) from bunnings and yesterday got a Bayer track saw from sydney tools (it came in a deal with the extra track, grips, track joiners and a wet and dry vaccum). So first part of my question is does anyone have experience with Bayer track saws and are they alright? (im only using it for home purposes: diy, etc)

Secondly I have just seen Bayer have an almost identical mitre saw for the same price $299 from sydney tools and since I wanted to use the Vac for dust extraction on the saw, should I take the ryobi back and grab the Bayer one or will the vac hook up to the ryobi saw just fine?

    Cheers

This brand has been covered a few times, it's the "home" brand of Sydney Tools.

Take a read through these threads - I suspect things haven't changed much in the past couple of years.

Opinions wanted on Bayer tools (specifically Mitre Saw)

I should note, a vac/extractor doesn't need to be the same brand as the device you're extracting from - the vac hose just needs to plug in to the device, and you can often find or fashion an adapter to suit.

and worth noting that Sydney Tools have a poor returns policy compared to the Big Green Shed. I like the blokes at my local ST, but they're a last resort for any tool purchases because both Bunnings and Total tools have much better returns policies.
