Moisture Meters
G'day all,
I am considering purchasing a moisture meter and am confused as to the usefulness and price of the various gizmo's available. Can anyone recommend a unit, 'pinless' or 'pinned', inexpensive or not I am open to your experience . I use Australian and imported hardwoods generally, 50mm thickness.
Best regards

G'day Peter.
You shouldn't really need one if your purchasing KD Timber. However, any of the new fangled pinless type will give you a ball park moisture content. How accurate do you need to be?

Roger,
Thank you for the reply.
Whilst most of the timber I use is KD'd I have occasionally cut small amounts of green timber from interesting local trees that have come my way and dried them for box making or detail parts.
